Wow, it's been a really long time since I've put in a meaningful update. I think part of that is attributed to the fact that I've been trying to write in my paper journal more (not as much as I'd like still...oh how I would love a very, very large year-sized one!). Also, I've been doing a lot more socially. Basically, if I'm not at work, I'm out doing something, or else I have people over. I have had so many things happen and develop and go on...the closest I've got to writing them is e-mailing my roommate Erin about them during the day, or Blair, and then copying myself on the e-mails in hopes that I paste them into my journal so I have record of what is going on in my life!

I'd like to catch up on some things, but I don't know how long that will take. I'd like to go through and put together all of my LJs from years past so I can have them printed and bound into book format for my shelf. That may be an expensive venture though!

The last sort-of meaningful thing I wrote was in June. Wow. Lots to catch up on!

Basically, here is the very condensed version...I'd like to elaborate sometime:

  • Stopped 'dating' Julio in June (only lasted two months of getting together and hanging out)...wasn't good for me. He's a wonderful person, but yeah, just not a good thing.
  • Liz threw me a surprise party for my birthday and it was so much fun.
  • Eric came up for my birthday, and that is the last time I saw him. We started talking on the phone a bit more again, but I'm really just a busy person and I don't want to harvest false hope in him. He's been calling a lot lately, and today I finally said something about it.
  • Blair moved to Maryland in August. It was soooooo hard! But we've grown soooo much closer and she really is my soulfriend. :)
  • I went on vacation in October to New England, where I met my parents and we drove the entire loop.
  • I went through the temple in Palmyra, New York on October 10th and received my endowment.
  • I go to the temple at least once a week.
  • I am doing some sort of church activity or social gathering a couple times a week.
  • I made belly dancing troupe, so I'm in a troupe called Azalia. My first performance is in March. I've got the routine down and the zilling and everything. I have my costume (custom made in Egypt), just need it taken in! Not a cheap hobby, but I love it and it has transformed my esteem and my body.
  • I have lost over 50 pounds since February. Quite a few people have been asking if I've been doing something, because they notice. Finally!
  • I signed up for a 5k to run in April, so I've been trying to train to run.
  • I've really been learning a lot of spiritual lessons, a lot about the power of prayer.
  • I have made some incredible friends and developed a couple lovely friendships that are very meaningful to me.
  • I spent Thanksgiving with my visiting teacher/talented/beautiful friend Seretta, with a few of her relatives, all of us in our 20s. It was a great time! Seretta is getting her PhD in trumpet performance and performs in many ensembles, including the Orchestra at Temple Square. My favorite thing to do with her is sing at the piano together and play with each other's hair while one another plays. We have a tender friendship full of sisterly love!
  • Went to the First Presidency Christmas Devotional and the MoTab Christmas Concert.
  • Been spending a lot of time with a few beautiful new friends.
  • Spent Christmas at my friend Ethan's house in Utah County. It was so wonderful to be with a big family and experience that. I hope to have that someday.
  • I start at the U of Utah in January, just one class there (and one online class from BYU) until I can feel financially comfortable enough to find a new job (which I've talked to my boss about, no surprises!)...they accepted ALL of my major credits from NMU, so I can finish in a year if I go full-time year round.
  • Lots of self-discovery.

That is all for now...perhaps more later, I hope. I need to start writing all my experiences again.
