All better [Jun. 27th, 2006|05:29 pm]

[music |news]

Ok, so those of you who I talked to about my cat, everything is ok...well, not ok, but nothing really different than before. I talked to my principal and there was the issue of her not using the litterbox, but using the bathroom sink or wherever instead (which she did before and I just shut the bathroom door).  I thought this was ok anyway b/c she is in my apartment and not Gayle's, so I don't feel as bad about that.  And she was charging people she didn't know (which she also used to do). My principal told me that if I really love my kitty (which I do) then I should just keep her (so I will). Sigh, I am glad that all over with and I will still have a kitty when I get back, as well as little kitties most likely. To that she said that I could advertise on the school email, b/c that is what she did when her dog had puppies. I am happy about all that now. And in honor or her, here are some pictures of Ula.

What a most wonderful idea; thanks so much T! I've worked some on my writing and some just dinking around and bonus, I had chai too :) The weather has let up some so I think I will be going to get the oil changed in the car after I go pick it up from the window tinting place. It should be done, but I don't know seeing as my phone died...oops. They said it would take like an hour and a half, so I'll going in 10 minutes or so and it should be done b/c that would be two hours. I think I might make a weekly ritual of this, seeing as I"m not actually working ;) I have quite a few knitting projects in the works, a couple scarfs, 3 actually now that I think about it, and my first bag! I'm quite excited about that. However, I can't do any more on it yet b/c I'm waiting for the other color to come in the mail. Well, I suppose I should be going, clean up my space and whatnot here and head out. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

la la la laaa [Jun. 17th, 2006|07:36 pm]
[mood |boredbored]
[music |Canadian Brass]

I have realized why I spent my first month home not really at home at all....I'm bored. I really don't have any friends around here any more and so the main thing that there is to do here is help and hang out with my mom...not that that's all that bad, she most definately needs and deserves a break, but still, I'm bored. I could be working on writing and stuff, mayhaps I'll take a few afternoons and go out and do that. I just know if I sit around and do it here I'll get bugged for not doing something more "productive." Arg arg arg So, yes, that is my conclusion.
On another note, my tattoo is healing nicely. It's not really red around it and it doesn't hurt, so I really can't complain. In a fewc days mauhaps I'll take a picture so you all can see where it actually is ;o) My dad said (yesterday when he first saw it) that it wasn't a good idea to go and get "tattooed all around" (which I don not intend on doing) b/c what ever I get with cost a lot to remove (which I don't plan on doing either). I told him that I had been thinking about it for at least 3 years and made sure I was certain it was what I wanted before I went. "As long as it is what you wanted." And it is. These are the reasons I love, respect, admire, adjective, adjective, adjective, my daddy so much (what a nice segway to Father's Day). He is able to rationalize with us (his daughters), but is also fully aware that in the end, as long as it is what we want and it makes us happy, that is what really matters. I'm sure in severe cases he would not act in that way, and I am sure there are times when he hasn't, but that is, of course, when he was acting in our best interests (and I say that sincerely). I do remember a time when I was little when I would have liked to trade in my folks for new ones. In my 24 years I realize how good I've had it, as far as parents and family goes. I wouldn't trade any of them for someone else.
Hmmm, what interesting tangents you go on when you just start rambling....I suppose I should finish cleaning up my room for today (more will ensue tomorrow I'm sure).

Almost done [May. 31st, 2006|09:36 am]
[mood |workingworking]
[music |Regis & Kelly]

I am almost finished with all of the assignments for the cultural class I took during the school year. All I have left to do is a unit plan, and that is getting done today. Then I still get to put together my presentation, but I'm still not really sure what that's going to be all about. Yea, that's all of the excitement that's going on here. And I need to do laundry too. Tomorrow is the presentation and going to Grandma's to work on wedding stuff. Friday is time for packing and whatnot, and Saturday I leave for Marquette!! Yay! I am oh so excited about that! Well, I need to finish stuff; ttfn!

Done and over [May. 29th, 2006|08:53 am]
Sigh...I got back yesterday from Holland. One full week of wedding stuff and now I don't know what to do with myself. Well, actually, I have a unit to plan as well as a presentation I'm giving to some kids on Thursday, that should keep me busy until Saturday when I head up to da UP.
The wedding was beautiful and I had a great time! (And I'm not just saying that Amanda Sue) Here is the low-down of the crazy busy week we had -
*Sunday - went to Holland, figured out programs
*Monday - made programs, went to St. Joseph, dr. appt,
*Tuesday - back to Holland, picked up linens, went to reception hall, finished programs, back to St. Joseph
*Wednesday - went to South Bend to look for an Amanda approved dress for her sister for rehersal dinner, didn't find one (but I did get a fedora for $3!)
*Thursday - Amanda's sister and I went shopping for bachalorette party, went to get our nails done, Kim and I went to set up the hotel for the party, then out for dinner and back to the hotel
*Friday - Back to Holland, helped set up reception hall, out for lunch, got ready for rehersal, wedding rehersal, rehersal dinner, back to St. joseph
*Saturday - up at 6, got coffee, went to get hair done, drove to the church in Holland, got Amanda ready, got myself ready (Amanda, I found your lipstick in my purse), got pictures taken, ceremony, hopped in limo, got more pictures taken, went for icecream, dripped it on my dress (oops), went to reception, ate, gave toast, made Amanda cry, danced the night away, rode to Grand Rapids to stay at Kim's place
*Sunday - back to Holland for the opening of the gifties, went to East Lansing on the way home to see Teresa, walked the cats, drove all the way home

Well, there it all is. And now I have to unload my car and get laundry sorted, then get dressed so I can go see Grandma and take her to see Grandpa. Hope you all have a wonderful day - I'm just going to try and survive the heat. After being in a climate where it didn't really get over 30 degrees for 6 months or so, this 80 degree weather is killin' me.

Shopping Shopping Shopping [May. 21st, 2006|01:07 am]
The shopping trip was a success! A very loooong success. We left my house by 2 and got home around 9. Holy crazy shopping spree Batman! I did find a skirt and a sweater (to go over the top I found yesterday that goes with the skirt). Bonus, I found a nifty tunic-y thing as well as an off the shoulder shirt. whoooooweee, time to dress all nice and go out:) I also found flat silver sandals for the weddings. All in all it was a good day out and I spent a lot of money (well, I guess that really doesn't go with the good part, but oh well). Ooohh and Amanda found a dress for rehersal dinner too, so that was good as well. Thanks for coming out and going shopping with me Amanda Sue, I had a blast. Off to bed; I have to pack in the morning and go see one of my munchkins get confirmed :) Then it's off to Holland for the Week-Before-the-Wedding. Oh, I just know there is much fun and craziness to be had :)

(no subject) [May. 17th, 2006|03:35 am]
[mood |awakeawake]
[music |Daddy's alarm just went off]

So I went to bed at 9 and now I'm up and can't get back to sleep. Actually I've been up for about 2 hours now. I got up around 1:30 to go to the bathroom (tmi, I know) and that is when my luggage was delivered (I just barely made it to my last flight in time; they had to put my bags on the next flight out), so I brought them in and decided I couldn't go to sleep. So then, I finished reading the book that I started on the planes and then it was 3. I thought I'd be able to go to slepp after that, but here I am 40 minutes later and no such luck. Being all excited about going shopping with Amanda today really doesn't help all that much either. And I miss my kitty. No fluffy foot warmer for me. There are so many things I have to do. Mathaps I'll watch a movie and fall asleep (granted that's not on my list of things to do, but oh well....hhmmmmmm. I guess that's all for now. I'm sure there will be a run down of the shopping trip when we return (not that any of you are bound to find it as exciting as I will :oD Only being able to shop online for 6 months gets to you after a while). Oh, and if I am now actually in the vacinity of where you are, give me a ring, heck, even if we are just in the same state now. I'm planning on lots of traveling this summer.
